Where I am at

I have decided to post my wheel of life. I have done one of these in the past and there are many versions. If you want to generate one of your own, here is the link to the place that generated mine. Wheel of Life | Free Online Assessment (noomii.com) (I am not getting any compensation from this. I think this place will also try and hook you up with a coach. I am not endorsing this place. They just have a good wheel of life generator.)

I am planning on redoing this every 3 months around the time of the solstice or the equinox.

Mine is definitely out of balance, in theory, all these areas are equal and abundant.

Friends: I have worked on my friendships over the last few years. I want and need friends that are fun, caring, available for fun stuff, and actually check on me to make sure I am fine. I tend to look like I have it all together and don’t need anything.

Health: I need to lose some weight and get in better shape. I plan on starting a low-carb diet around the first of the year. I have done this before and it works for me losing weight. I have been taking a break from the gym but plan on going back. I do a HIIT program there. 30 minutes 3 times a week. I also need to add some sprinting into the mix. And maybe some leg work, since muscles burn more calories than fat and the leg muscles are some of the biggest in the body.

Career: My career is stable. I am confident in my abilities to do my job as a kitchen designer. That being said, I am looking for another job. This job has given me lots of skills that can be used in other jobs. Kitchen designers takes vague concepts and wants from the client and transforms them into workable plans and drawings for the client and the installer, plus managing the project, expectations of the client, and customer service. Like I said a whole lot of skills. My brother has some health issues and I would like to be able to see him more, meaning some type of work I could do remotely plus I am toward the top end of the pay scale at my current place.

Love: Yes, I rated it a 3. I am not in a relationship at the moment. It’s not that I don’t want to be in a relationship, as I am writing this on Christmas day, I am not willing to compromise just to be in a relationship. I am willing to wait for the right person.

Spiritually: Before Covid, I decided that I needed to learn to meditate, so I joined a meditation group. Before all the lockdowns we were doing one thing a week, after covid, we do 5-6 events a week. It got me into the habit of meditating each day. It is hard to explain the benefits to someone who doesn’t meditate. It gives you a sense of peace that is profound.

Family: I rated this one a 4, not because I don’t get along with my family or like them. It’s just that I don’t have many of them. I chose not to have kids, my brother doesn’t have kids, and our parents are dead. We are down to a few Aunts and Uncles and some cousins.

Money: I rated this one a 5. I have enough to pay my bills and put food on the table and I have some leftover, just not much. There is a book from 1910, The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace D Waddles. One of the points it makes is that God wants to live more through you and in this world for him to do that, you need money. I want to do some more living.

Fun: While I just said that I wanted some more money so I can live more. I am having a lot of fun now and it may have something to do with all that meditating that I have been doing. I am just glad to be here and I am going to enjoy it.

That’s where I am at. We will see how it is in 3 months.
